Newborn Session

No. Please come to your session prepared with your hair and makeup ready. We recommend wearing light makeup.

Please loosen up your baby’s clothing and nappy at least 30 minute prior to our session. This gives time for those little imprint marks and redness to disappear. Your baby will be naked for most of the session so we want his or her skin to be its natural, flawless self.

Yes! We love for you to bring any unique props – letters, clothing, baseball glove, stuffed animals, etc. It will make your pictures much more personal. We will work your props into the sets when possible and let you know if something will not work.

It’s completely NORMAL for your baby to wake up during the photo session and sometimes get a little fussy. We continue to work through their fuss with warmth, a little rocking and a bit of patience. Your baby will likely require a feeding at some point during the session and this usually solves the more dramatic fussiness issues.

This is completely normal and expected. We expect your baby to poop and pee all over the blankets and props. It happens! We wash everything after each session we do, so don’t worry about it. If you have any extra wipes or towels handy, bring them out for the session. We will always have some clean up items on hand too so don’t stress.

Once your baby’s session is reserved with a non-refundable deposit we have carved out a time slot for your family – early or late. We have never missed a baby session.

The ideal time to have a newborn session is within the first 10 days (max up to 14 days) from your baby’s birth. During this time, your little one still has the “curl”, which simply means her arms and legs still curl up easily. After two week he or she will make a big jump in growth and her arms and legs will stretch out more. Also within the first 10 days, your baby falls into this so-called “choma sleep” after being fed. That way we can wrap him/her easily into blankets or move her arms and legs around without disturbing her too much. They sleep for much longer periods as well. After a few weeks your baby will start to be more active and tries to look around as it is starting to develop her sight more and more. Don’t get me wrong, after 2 weeks you can still get gorgeous images, however, the typical newborn poses most likely won’t be possible. But there are other ways advantages to photographing a slightly older baby and your images will be equally as beautiful.

We will have the studio heated to a warmer than normal temperature so be sure to wear something light and comfortable and be prepared to sweat a little. Newborns cannot regulate their body temperature therefore we heat up the studio so your baby can be comfortable when we remove his or her clothing.

Maternity Session

Not at all. All of our maternity sessions are customised and tailored to the wants and needs of each client. Some clients prefer clean and simple artistic nude photographs and wraps, while others prefer to be fully clothed.

No. Please come to your session prepared with your hair and makeup ready. We recommend wearing light makeup.

We want you to feel beautiful and relaxed during your photography experience as well as to treasure your final images. Complete professional retouching is included in your session and you don’t have to worry about any imperfections such as blemishes, stretch marks and certain body contours. We specialise in the most comprehensive and detailed editing and will enhance and transform the image into a stunning work of art.

You are in good hands and we want to make sure that you will have the best selection of artistic images. We use our impeccable lighting skills and with our artistic eye we photograph your beautiful body curves. Even if its your first professional photography experience, our goal is to make sure you feel comfortable, relaxed, beautiful and confident. During your personalised photo shoot with us, we will guide you through elegant poses and will focus on angles that bring out your most beautiful self.

Please wear comfortable and simple clothing – i.e. avoid anything that will leave an imprint on your bump such as a lace or knitted top.
We recommend if possible that you wear dark trousers or skirt (jersey type that will sit below your bump are perfect) and a dark T shirt or aerobic style vest top.
If you have purchased booties, shoes or a toy for your new baby please do bring this along – in fact anything that you would like to include to make the bump shoot personal to you.

This is different for each and every client. The point of the maternity shoot is to bring emphasis on ‘the bump’, so the bigger the better! That being said, you should do the maternity shoot when you are still feeling comfortable in your skin. Most shoots are done at around 32 – 34 weeks, but we can do it as early or as late as you like!
